Is there a formula for originality?
That's what we've been asking ourselves, and what gave us the theme for this, our final-year exhibition. We are graduating from the FdA Graphic Design for Communication course. Of the ninety or so students finishing this year, some are going out into industry to work, some are going on to the third year of the BA, or to do an MA, and some will do a year-long industry placement before finishing their studies.

We're just at the stage where we're beginning to find our own voices as designers, and we wanted to explore what it is that makes work original. Does work need to be original in order
to be good? Is there any such thing as originality? If we can figure out the formula, maybe we'll have the key to success
as well.

On the walls of our show you can see our individual responses to a brief that we set ourselves on originality. Here, on the website you will find a page for each student showing examples of our work, with links to our personal websites
if you want to know more.
